Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) is acentralized test for admission to 18 prominentNational Law Universities in India. The test istaken after the Higher Secondary Examinationor the 12th grade for admission to Five yearsintegrated under graduate program in Law andafter Graduation for Master of Laws (LL.M)programs conducted by these law universities.It is an all India level common entranceexamination, conducted on rotational basis bythese Universities for admissions to their UGand PG degree programs.


For UG Program:
• Age: Candidates shall be below Twenty(20) Years of age as on 1st July 2018 in caseof all Unreserved / NRIs / NRI Sponsored categories candidates & 22 in case of SC/ ST/OBC/ Specially Abled Persons.

• Percentage: As regards minimum percentage of marks in qualifying examination (i.e.,10+2), the candidates must have secured.
Forty five percent (45%) marks in case of candidates belonging to Unreserved/OBC / Specially Abled Persons (SAP)and other categories, and Forty Percent(40%) marks in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST categories.

• Appearing Candidates: Candidates appearing in the qualifying examinationin March/April 2018 are also eligible forappearing in CLAT-2018 onlineexamination.

• Result: The result of qualifyingexamination (i.e.,10+2) shall be submittedby the candidate at the time of admissionfailing which the candidate shall be ineligiblefor admission to the Course.

The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) is an all India entrance examination conducted onrotation by 18 National Law Universities(NLUs) for admissions to their under-graduateand post-graduate degree programmes (LL.B &LL.M.). The 18 participating NLUs in the orderof their establishment are:

All India Law Entrance Test (AILET) isconducted for admission to the National LAWUniversity, Delhi exclusively. The NATIONAL LAW UNIVERSITY, DELHIoffers admission to B.A.LL.B. (Hons.), LL.M.and Ph.D. Programs.

Qualification:Senior Secondary School Examination (10+2System) or Equivalent Examination with 50%marks. The candidates appearing in the 12th standard examination in March/April can alsoapply. Foreign Nationals to be eligible shouldhave 65% marks in the qualifying examination.

Age Limit: Below 20 years as on 1 July, 2018(22 years in case of SC/ST candidates).

Total Seats: 80 (70 seats on merit through All India Law Entrance Test (AILET) and 10 seatsfor direct admission to Foreign Nationals onmerit). Foreign Nationals are exempted from AILET.

Reservation: 15% for SC, 7.5% for ST and 3%for Persons with Disabilities.

Note: One additional seat for Kashmiri Migrants. Two supernumerary seats forresidents of Jammu & Kashmir.The AILET is held on the first Sunday of Mayevery year.

Exam Pattern:The Test has 150 questions for 150 marks thatmust be attempted within 1 hour 30 minutes. TheAILET has sections on English, GeneralKnowledge, Basic Mathematics, LogicalReasoning and Legal Aptitude.
